So....Where Am I Headed?

Welcome to the inside of my brain. :)

So many things to post about, so little time. In my world, responsibility and obligation are four letter words. I'm constantly overwhelmed by them. Whether it's making time to visit both sets of out-of-town in-laws, stressing about work and finances, trying to keep up with friends, decisions about our married future or attempting to renovate our new (old) home...one can easily drown emotionally in the tidal wave of to-do's and other people's needs.

In thinking about being bombarded by all these things, it's tough to keep a positive outlook. Lately I've been really frustrated, over tired and frankly feeling held hostage by it all. My amazing husband and I started taking walks together after work in the evenings and one night as I'm ranting he reminded me of something I taught him about...the Law of Attraction.

Many months ago I suggested he read Louise Hay's book You Can Heal Your Life. It was a game changer for me...and interestingly he really took to it too. In fact, part of my blog title comes from a mantra of Louise's that has infiltrated my subconscious for the past several years -- "In the Infinity of Life where I am, all is perfect, whole and complete. All is well in my world."  I find it calming, it gets me back on track and reminds me that everything will be ok.

If Louise Hay isn't for you, there are many other books and films that talk and teach about the Law of Attraction. The Secret is probably one of the most famous out there now. I enjoy listening to the audio versions during my commute to work.

Most people will read this and think I'm a nutcase...Law of Attraction? The Secret? Mantras? She's koo-koo crazy!  But really, what it's all about is positivity and the belief that what you put out there you get back. Like attracts like. So if you're putting out consistant thoughts of worry, upset, disappointment, and lack...sorry, but all you're going to attract to you is more worry, upset, disappointment and lack. Instead, focus on the positive, what you DO have, be grateful, thankful and believe that you have all that you need. That attitude shift is the key to a whole new world.

So here goes...my experiment in applying the Law of Attraction to the issues of the modern woman. Whether it's my struggles in balancing private time with career....maintaining friendships....navigating a new marriage...or deciding whether to have children, I have more on my plate than I can handle...but no more than most other people. I think the difference is outlook and how you handle it. Right?
